Silicon Alps Cluster GmbH: KI Based Trend Radar - Headline Hunter
Date: 02.01.2023
Main topic: Expansion of digital business models
The Silicon Alps Cluster is a private-public partner model in the form of a limited liability company with 140 member companies. The cluster is organized across the provinces of Carinthia and Styria and sees itself as a networker, enabler and project development company.
The partners of the Silicon Alps Cluster are currently organized in four main areas, the so-called "Areas of Excellence": Smart Sensor Systems, Cybersecurity Systems, RFID & Wireless IoT and Power Electronics. A "horizon scanning process" was developed for these areas in order to collect all relevant trend information for the partners worldwide within the framework of a "horizon scanning radar" and to make it available to the member companies. For this purpose, an AI-based system was developed in close cooperation with Neptun Data Processing GmbH, which provides this process with fully automated data from more than 70 languages, using state-of-the-art scraping methods to summarize freely accessible online sources according to relevant news articles in several news feeds. The cluster offers the system as a freemium model in three variants:
- free newsfeed via an RSS interface that limits the number of feed entries per day,
- a regular standardized report free of charge for cluster members,
- from mid-2023 a paid premium access for cluster members for a fully individualized report generation.
Neptun Data Processing GmbH is a startup from the AplusB incubator build! Gründerzentrum Kärnten GmbH and has developed the AI-based media intelligence system "Headline Hunter", for which it received the nomination for the Carinthian Innovation Award 2022 as well as the "TDIKT Award 2022".
