Skills Competitions WorldSkills and EuroSkills
Competitions in promoting of professions for young people, showcasing and inspiring world-class excellence in skills and introducing youth to a variety of careers across Europe.
Alongside numerous national skills competitions like the AustrianSkills, the international EuroSkills and WorldSkills competitions take place alternatingly every two years. Via the AustrianSkills the competitors qualify for WorldSkills and EuroSkills, where young people have the opportunity to test their abilities and skills against other international participants.
EuroSkills
The next event, the EuroSkills 2020, will take place in Graz from 22th to 27th September 2021 (postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic).
WorldSkills
WorldSkills International is an international vocational skills competition held every two years. It is a non-profit organisation founded in 1953 and headquartered in the Netherlands. Austrian teams have participated in WorldSkills competitions 27 times since 1961 with many excellent results. In total Austria's 419 participants obtained a total of 180 medals and 136 special awards.
Team Austria won six gold, 4 silver and one bronze medal at the last WorldSkills in Kazan 2019.

At the EuroSkills in Budapest 2018 Team Austria won 4 gold, 14 silver, 3 bronze medals and gained 9 "Medallions for Excellence" (700 out of 800 possible points).
